Creating Va Va Voom for Volvo

Exhibiting cars requires exceptionally well lit spaces that bring out the best in colour and design. Working together with the architects we are extremely pleased to have combined design with lighting to achieve consistency throughout the dealerships
says Nuria Torrents, Managing Director of Aurora Spain.

THE PROJECT

LOCATION:
Ciudad Real, Spain

CLIENT:
Volvo

A snapshot

VOLVO has been a creator of worldwide innovations since its first car rolled off the production line in 1927. Today, it is one of the most well-known and respected car brands. Recently the company has announced its focus on an all-electric future.

To transform dealer showrooms, Aurora was appointed to bring to life schemes that have been designed by Archivir Architects.

The Project

Volvo’s objective was to create homogeneous lighting throughout the showrooms with average levels of 1500 lux in the working plane. They were seeking to enhance the feeling of space and height in each showroom, and making use of the  4m ceiling height.

AFTER
RESULT

To accommodate the high ceiling  Aurora Lighting proposed their flagship retail product: a high efficiency 3000lm Eddi T1 spotlight with a narrow reflector and 4000K colour temperature. In the slightly lower woden ceiling relaxation area, to provide a tranquil and homely environment, t 2000lm 2700K Eddi Downlight and Eddi Tilt products were used.

Working with Archivir Architects, Aurora achieved the required homogenous levels of lighting, whilst creating two very different environments.
