We are extremely proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for two Lux Awards this year and will be attending the ceremony, held on 14 November 2019, following the LuxLive 2019 event. Lighting products from both our Trade and Projects divisions have been recognised.
Aurora Projects’ Artius Track has been shortlisted for Interior Luminaire of the Year Award and Aurora Trade’s AOne Rotary Dimmer is on the shortlist for Enabling Technology of the Year Award.
AOne Rotary Dimmer
The AOne Rotary dimmer is a new smart product recently launched by Aurora Lighting in 2019. It’s the world’s first rotary Zigbee dimmer switch. It only requires a live wire in and switch live out, no neutral is required, which is important as a large percentage of U.K. homes don’t have a neutral wire behind the switch.
The dimmer fits into a standard 25mm back box (25mm - 1-gang,› 35mm - 2-gang) and, once replaced, smartens your entire circuit, enabling users to dim up to 250W of LED or Halogen. It has a blue LED night light that sits around the edge of the knob, which makes finding the light switch in the dark a lot easier and can be controlled directly from the wall or a mobile phone.
The dimmer comes with a flush screwless faceplate,1 gang or 2 gang. or it can be purchased in a module format so that it can be used with 3rd party plates, allowing users to retain their own decor style.
It’s the only rotary dimmer that works directly with the world's leading Zigbee smart home platforms like Samsung SmartThings and Amazon Echo Plus.
Aurora’s AOne smart lighting system offers the world’s widest range of innovative smart lighting products covering Light, Power, Sensing and Control for the Home and Light Commercial environments. Compatible with SmartThings and Alexa, it can be managed via a mobile phone from anywhere in the world, is suitable for multiple applications, provides enhanced energy savings, can be commissioned extremely easily and is specifically designed for trade installations.
Aurora Lighting’s new Artius Track family incorporates exceptional optics designed specifically for retail accent lighting. Produced as standard with 90 CRI, it is ideal for highlighting new offers and creating customer flow whilst bringing retail displays of food, clothing, beauty ranges and more to life. It has a range of exceptional and bespoke optics including a 10 degree Extra Narrow for true highlighting, as well as Narrow (18 degrees) and Medium (28 degrees), allowing the correct balance between highlighting and surrounding ambient lighting from the same luminaire, greatly reducing the number of separate ambient lights needed, as well as a Wide (40 degree) to ensure the same look can be used across accent and ambient requirements within the store.
The optics are housed in a unique head design to ensure maximum thermal dissipation (up to 125 luminaire lumens per total circuit watt), ultimate flexibility (350 x 180 adjustment) and balanced aesthetic whether it’s paired with a gear body, in line track adaptor or recessed and adjustable versions.
Created as a two tier product, the Artius has been designed to be smart, significantly enhancing customer experience and providing a range of product and store insights. The plastic body aesthetic allows for additional smart wireless components with a patented optical design incorporated into the lens, pivot arm and body. This is where we can measure and track the light quality/ lifetime of the luminaire and monitor movement directly below the spotlight (for footfall, movement patterns and energy saving). At the same time a two-way communication can be used for control, data feedback and beacon ecosystem value added services, such as mobile app advertising and wayfinding.
This can all be seamlessly integrated within the product itself without any negative impact on the aesthetic, which would normally not be possible when adding these controls and multiple sensor capabilities.
The Artius has been designed from scratch to offer core traditional retail values within the new age of connected, wireless lighting where “lighting as a host” is the infrastructure to bring customers back into stores and away from online shopping by delivering an in store customer experience that is missing in the modern day.
