A snapshot

Evans Cycles’ newest store, located in the up-and-coming vibrant Southwark London Borough of East Dulwich, offers bikes for everyone, from the extreme downhill junkie to your casual Sunday afternoon Hyde Park cruiser.

As such, they worked closely with Aurora to determine a personalised lighting scheme that would support this active environment and help the store thrive among a busy market.

The brief was to overcome the multilevel ceilings, create an atmosphere while lighting different textures within the same store, control the speed of customer flow throughout the store and create an exciting, enjoyable and comfortable environment for a great customer in-store experience while enhancing brand value

the solution
  • EDDI features groundbreaking passive thermal management that rapidly dissipates heat without bulky heatsinks or fans. Available in track, recessed, multiples and downlights, the range delivers a powerful output and dissipates heat with equal efficiency however the adjustable head is focussed.
the OUTCOME
Result

Evans Store Project and Design Manager James Duguid said, “Its varying ceiling mounting methods helped when slowing down the pace in the clothing areas with a softer light, while brightening up the dense accessories range.”

"The use of spotlights fitted with the reflector optic resulted in two favoured outcomes. Firstly it brought out the vibrant colours of the bikes and slowed down the pace in the aisles, making the considered purchase to be more comfortable.”

In response to the completed project Duguid said: “I would definitely use Aurora in the future. Would I recommend them to other retailers? No ... because I want the head start!”
